Requests for Proposal: ZVML Accessibility Renovations

PUBLIC TENDER NOTICE

The Village of Chester (the “Village”) proposes to engage the services of qualified and capable contractor(s) to provide accessibility renovations to the Zoé Vallé Memorial Library (“ZVML”), 63 Regent Street, Chester, NS. The work will take place within property owned by the Municipality of the District of Chester (or “MODC”), but managed by the Village of Chester per an inter-municipal “Agreement regarding the Governance, Operation, and Stewardship of the Zoé Vallé Memorial Library”.

Note: Exterior and Interior renovations will be considered separately. RFPs are posted to the Government of Nova Scotia Procurement Portal.

Exterior Accessibility Renovations

The scope includes a new accessible path from the front door walkway to a side door entrance and a new landing with ramp, stairs, and handrails at door-level. Construction drawings will be needed from the successful Proponent for permit(s).

Interior Accessibility Renovations

The scope includes widening four interior doorways, installing a wider accessible outside door with power door opener, and converting an existing single-stall washroom to meet accessibility standards. Construction drawings will be needed from the successful Proponent for permit(s).
