2026-07-15 Monthly Village Commission Meeting

The Chester Village Commission's July Monthly Meeting agenda(165 KB) and agenda package(6.02 MB) are now available. The meeting will be held in-person and on livestream at 6:00 pm. Everyone is welcome.
Items of interest to the public include: the swearing in of Commissioner-elect Gloria Nauss, the annual appointment of Commission Chair and Vice-Chair, investments, project and financial updates, and a new Meetings & Procedures By-law.

The 2026 annual election was for one (1) Commission seat this year for a three-year term, 2026-2029. Below is the tally as of the close of polls at 7:00 pm on Jun 23, 2026.

Lido Pool OPENS on Sunday, Jun 28th

The 2026 swim season runs Jun 28-Aug 28, 2026.
FREE public swim hours are:
- Mon-Fri: 12pm-2pm and 5pm-8pm
- Sat-Sun: 12pm-8pm
Welcome or welcome back to our lifeguards this season: Nevaeh (supervisor), Gavin, Rex, Tao, Teagan, and Tyleigh!

Summer Compost Collection 2026

The Village's extra weekly compost pick-up for Summer 2026 starts Jun 15th, and ends Sep 30th.
Please note:
- Have your bins at curbside by 7:00 am.
- You may line your green bin with paper only, no plastic.

2026-06-17 Monthly Village Commission Meeting

The Chester Village Commission's June Monthly Meeting agenda(187 KB) and agenda package(7.95 MB) are now available.
Please note that this meeting will be held at St. Stephen's Community Centre at 5:00 pm to accommodate the Annual General Meeting following at 6:30 pm in the same venue. The meeting will be held in-person and livestream.
Items of interest to the public include: updates from the Chair and Clerk/Treasurer on current activities. The Library re-opened Jun 1st - 6 days a week!; the Visitor Information Centre opens Jun 15th; summer compost collection starts the week of Jun 15th; flower baskets will be installed the end of the week; the Village Election 2026 is on Jun 23rd; and the Lido Pool opens and swimming lessons begin on Jun 29th! Whew!

2026-06-10 Audit Committee Meeting

The Chester Village Commission's second Audit Committee Meeting of this year is scheduled for June 10, 2026 at 6:30 pm. The agenda(173 KB) and agenda package(560 KB) are now available.
Under the Municipal Government Act, villages and municipalities are required to appoint an audit committee, which must meet at least two times a year. This meeting is to review the completed Financial Statements for the 2025/26 audit. The 2025/26 Financial Statements will also be presented at the Village Commission's Annual General Meeting on June 17, 2026 at 6:30 pm.
