Annual Public Meeting
TAKE NOTICE THAT the annual meeting of electors is being held on Wednesday, June 6, 2023 at 6:30pm at the Village of Chester Commission office, 27 Pleasant Street, Chester.
Please note the site is accessible by wheelchair, if required.
Notice of 2023 Commission Election
TAKE NOTICE THAT there is one (1) Commissioner position to be filled through this election to take place on June 13, 2023:
- One (1) for a 3-year term – June 2023 to May 2026
AND TAKE NOTICE THAT nominations for Village Commissioner shall be made on the prescribed paper form, which may be obtained at the Village of Chester Commission office at 27 Pleasant Street, or downloaded here: Nomination Form 2023(135 KB) . The nomination form must be signed by the candidate, accompanied by endorsement of five (5) electors supporting the nominations.
An elector and candidate must be resident in the Village for at least six months immediately prior to the Village election to qualify. Click here for Definitions-Elector/Resident(142 KB) .
The nomination form must be filed in person by the candidate or their agent with the Returning Officer (the Clerk/Treasurer), on Nomination Day, May 31, 2023 from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the Village office at 27 Pleasant Street.
- Nomination Day Wednesday, May 31, 2023, 9:00am - 5:00pm
- Advance Poll Saturday, June 10, 2023, 11:00am - 7:00pm
- Election Day Tuesday, June 13, 2023, 9:00am - 7:00pm
If you would like to confirm that you are on the List of Electors, please contact the Clerk/Treasurer at or 902-275-4994.
Location of the Advance and Election Day polls is the Village of Chester Commission office, 27 Pleasant Street, Chester.

May 4th is International Firefighters' Day

This is a day for the community to show support for all firefighters worldwide, recognize their level of commitment and dedication; remember those lost or injured in the line of duty; say "thank you"; and, as a mark of respect.
The Village of Chester owes so much to the Chester Volunteer Fire Department. These dedicated, well-trained friends and neighbours give countless hours of their personal time and hearts to keeping us safe.
